ATI® ICP Element Alkalinity
Highly pure solution to increase the alkalinity in reef aquariums. Ideal for compensating deficiencies and for daily supply.
Dosage instructions:
- 1ml per 100 liters (26 gal) increases the alkalinity by 0,1°dKH
- Increase alkalinity by a maximum of 4°dKH (40ml/100l or 40ml/26 gal) per day
- The bottle contains 10,000°dKH
Symptoms of low Alkalinity:
- Death of SPS and LPS
- Slowed skeletal formation, dull colors, tissue damage, susceptibility to RTN and STN
- pH fluctuations due to a lack of ALK buffer. This leads to stress and susceptibility to disease in fish and invertebrates
Causes of low Alkalinity:
- High consumption by stony corals and coralline algae
- Too low dosage of alkalinity
- Defective dosing pump (e.g. clogged dosing hoses, incorrect calibration)
- Use of salt mix with low akalinity
Note
- Crystals can form in the bottle at low temperatures
- The crystals disappear when heated to 45°C /115°F (e.g. in a warm water bath)
